As soon as I read the course description for the From Grimm to Disney seminar I knew that I wanted to take the class. I love Disney movies and I love reading so I thought this class would be great for me. I have heard and watched videos about how the Disney movies are so different from the original fairy tales and I am interested in learning more about the original fairy tales. I know the original tales of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel and the contrast between these tales and the Disney movies is huge. I am interested in reading the original fairy tales, analyzing them, and comparing them to the movie adaptations.

I am hoping that this seminar will help me improve my writing and critical thinking skills and I am hoping to just enjoy this class. I don't really enjoy writing, but when I am interested in the topic that I am writing about then it makes it more enjoyable. I already enjoy this class and I hope that as the semester continues the class becomes even more enjoyable. I hope that this class will also help improve my analytical skills and help me think outside the box. This seminar topic is very interesting to me and I am excited to learn more about fairy tales and the ways in which the original tales contrast with movie adaptations.

My favorite fairy tale is Cinderella because I like the good versus evil theme in the story and I like that the evil stepsisters get what they deserve in the end. The stepsisters get punished for being evil and Cinderella gets the happy ending that she deserves after putting up with her evil stepfamily.
